Micah Parsons Remains Out, Not Yet Activated from 21-Day Practice Window

Micah Parsons·Green Bay Packers·ACL tear, left knee — surgical reconstruction··Farcaster ↗·X/Twitter ↗

Micah Parsons continues to recover from a confirmed left knee ACL tear, surgically repaired on December 29, 2025 — now approximately 41 weeks post-op. The literature window for ACL reconstruction is 39–52 weeks total from the surgery date, placing Parsons squarely inside the recovery range but not yet at the established biological floor for return to full competition.

The team has not activated Parsons from his 21-day practice window, and his current designation is simply Out. That administrative status is consistent with where the biology sits: at 41 weeks post-op, he is past the lower bound of the published ACL reconstruction window (roughly 39 weeks), but the upper bound extends to 52 weeks, and criterion-based clearance — not the calendar — is the controlling factor. The reinjury risk literature is clear that return before full criterion-based clearance, even when the athlete is functionally capable of practicing, carries meaningfully elevated re-tear risk.

The 21-day window is a critical observation period. It does not guarantee activation, and the fact that the team has not yet pulled the trigger is not itself a red flag — at 41 weeks post-op from an ACL reconstruction, conservative management through the window is entirely consistent with sound clinical practice. What matters now is whether Parsons is demonstrating the strength symmetry, movement quality, and psychological readiness that criterion-based return protocols require. That information is not public. What is public is that he is in the window, the biology is permissive, and the team is watching closely before making the call.
